Extra, extra! Read all about it! It will be two years this January 15th since Costco Brookhaven (in metro Atlanta) started to donate produce to Helping Feed Atlanta. Then, six months later, Costco – Cumberland Mall began donating and now, AS OF TODAY, Costco Alpharetta is donating.
Helping Feed Atlanta was stretched too thin so we turned the Cumberland store over to Second Helpings Atlanta, Inc., a great organization. We turned the Alpharetta store over to Atlanta Free Store, another great non profit.
As far as I know, before we came along, Costco’s didn’t donate its edible-but-not-sellable fresh fruits and veggies. 652 more stores to go.
